Caribou – James “Jim” Pelletier, 71, passed away in the early morning hours of January 1st, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born on June 15, 1951 in St. Francis, Maine, the son of the late Romeo T. Pelletier and Margaret (Walker) Pelletier.
Jim was a Sergeant in the First Calvary Division of the US Army and served in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. After the military, he became a pipe fitter by trade and worked in the sprinkler system business for 40 years, having his own company for the last 20 years of his working career. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and family gatherings where he was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Frances (Daigle) Pelletier, his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Wakem and her husband Matthew Wakem, and his granddaughter Macy Wakem all of Woodland, one brother, Bruce Pelletier and his wife Marianne of Lewiston, Maine, as well as many in laws, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou in the spring.
