Caribou and Scarborough-James “Norman” Johnson, 92, husband of the late Lucille (Charette) Johnson, died February 5, 2014 at Maine Veterans Home, Scarborough. He was born in Caribou September 5, 1921 the son of the late Bernard and Verna (Wright) Johnson. Norman served with the US Army during WW II and was a charter member and past post commander of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. Mr. Johnson owned and operated Lyons Market in Caribou for many years, was employed as the manager of County Beverage in Caribou for a number of years and prior to his retirement was employed by the Caribou Development Commission. He is survived by his four sons: Philip Johnson of Barryville, N.Y., James Johnson of Portland, Jeffrey Johnson of Eau Clair, WS and Dana Johnson of Sanford, N.C. His sister, Helen Quimby of Caribou. Eleven grandchildren, Six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Family graveside services will be held in the spring at the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
