James, affectionately known as Jimmy, was the beloved son of Delcia Kaleta and the late James Kaleta, Sr. He was a devoted brother to Karen and Jeff and a caring uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to many. He was a warm-hearted man who brought joy to those around him with his sharp wit, humorous stories, and infectious laughter.
As the son of an Air Force parent, James traveled to multiple locations before his family settled in Van Buren. He graduated from Van Buren District Secondary School before entering the Army. After military service, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine in Fort Kent. Later in life, James followed his culinary interests, studying the art of cooking. He spent time among friends at social events throughout the local area. His charismatic personality made him a familiar and cherished presence in his local community, where he was always ready with a joke, a story, or a helping hand.
Though his time with us was too short, James leaves a legacy of love, humor, and unforgettable memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, James. Your laughter, stories, and warm spirit will forever echo in the lives you touched.
