Caribou – James A. “Jim” Henderson, 67, husband of Karen A. (Thomas) Henderson, passed away Thursday evening, March 12, 2015 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following an extended illness. He was born March 23, 1947 in Fort Fairfield, the son Horace and Helen (Monson) Henderson. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1965 and been a resident of Caribou for many years. He worked for Vahlsing, Inc. Easton for a number of years and later became employed by Northeastern Supply, Caribou, where he worked as a bulk propane delivery truck driver for 33 years. He was married to Karen A. Thomas on June 27, 1987 and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and riding his scooter. He was also a devoted NASCAR Fan, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr.. Jim loved kids and considered all the children he knew to be “his grandkids”. Jim was also an accomplished woodworker and craftsman. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by three brothers, William, Bradford and Thomas Henderson; one sister, Joyce White; one grandson, Dustin Mullen. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen of Caribou; two sons, James A. “Jimmy” Henderson II of Presque isle, Scott R. Henderson and his companion Tammy Burnham of Mapleton; one daughter, Darcy M. Henderson of Caribou; one sister, Margaret Oak of Winter Haven, FL; 9 grandchildren, Derrah Mullen of Vernon, CT, Devin Mullen and his wife Lindsey of Ellington, CT, Derrak Henderson and his companion Nikki of Caribou, Anthony Henderson of Washburn, Jessica, Jaden and Ryan Henderson, all of Caribou, Brendon Henderson of Vassalboro, Kaitlin Henderson of Mapleton; six great grandchildren with two due soon; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday March 18, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, where a service of Remembrance will be conducted at 1:00 p.m.. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held following the service at Spruce Haven, Doyle Road, Caribou.
