Caribou-Jacquelyn L. Beaupre, 86 passed away January 8, 2016, at Caribou. She was born in Limestone August 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert and Edna (Griffeth) Leavitt. Jackie was the last of ten children. She was a 1947 graduate of Caribou High School and attended Becker College. On November 21, 1953, she married Norman Beaupre. Mrs. Beaupre performed administrative and accounting work for several area businesses including Lyons Service, Federation of Farmers, Bennett’s Hardware, Hutchinson Florist and Bearce Carter Oil. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church as well as the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, serving as the organizations treasurer for ten years. Jacquelyn was an artist. She was an excellent seamstress, creating beautiful quilts and clothing. She also painted with oils and did pen and ink sketches. Her favorite times were sitting in front of her easel on the deck of the family camp at Little Madawaska Lake. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Surviving in addition to her husband of over 62 years, Norman of Caribou are her three daughters and sons in law: Lisa and Dale Keyes of Bucksport, Jill and John Coale of Cumberland and Mary and Kevin McDonough of S. Portland. Four grandchildren; Marc Leclerc, Aimee Leclerc Nilsson, Megan Coale and Caitlin McDonough. Three great grandchildren; Ethan and Nolan Leclerc and Kamron Nilsson. Mrs. Beaupre was predeceased by four brothers; Linwood, Samuel, Harry and George Leavitt and five sisters, Doris Leavitt, Rena Webster, June Noyes, Gladys Hanscomb and Eva Leighton. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Tuesday January 12 2016 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Spring Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
