Caribou-Iris B. McDonald, 91, wife of the late Clement McDonald died February 14, 2015 at Caribou. She was born in Caribou May 11, 1923 the daughter of the late Benjamin and Albertine (Sirois) Blanchette. She was a 1940 graduate of Caribou High School, and was employed at American Kitchen Foods and McCains as well as being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. McDonald was a lifelong faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and sang in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Caribou Choral Society and the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her children; Helen McDonald of Waterville, John McDonald and wife Ruth of Southport, S.C., Catherine Starr of Andover, MA., Francis McDonald of New Oxford, PA., Jeanne Savage of Abilene, TX., Ruth McDonald of Sevierville, TN., Michael McDonald of Fort Fairfield, James McDonald and wife Kathy of Caribou, Clement McDonald and wife Susan of Oviedo, FL., and Paul McDonald and wife Denise of New Sweden. A daughter in law Patricia McDonald of New Mexico, a sister Louanne Rogers of Louisiana. 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. McDonald was predeceased by her husband, Clement in 1991, 2 sons Thomas and Peter, two grandsons Patrick Conley and Ryan McDonald, two daughters in law, Joyce and Irene McDonald, a sister Ruth Dumond and her husband Elmer, two brothers, Alberic and Ludger and a son in law Norman Starr. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 p.m. Wednesday where members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct evening memorial services at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday February 19, 2015 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. John Paul Labrie, officiating. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish center.
