Luella May Hewitt

November 28, 1928 — March 31, 2022

CARIBOU – Luella May Hewitt, 93, died peacefully in her sleep March 31, 2022 at her Caribou residence. She was born in Caribou, November 28, 1928 the daughter of the late Percy and Eva (Tracy) Clark. She was a graduate of Caribou High School, and was employed as a dietary aide at the Caribou Nursing Home for many years. Mrs. Hewitt loved playing cards, line dancing, traveling and going on cruises with her many close friends, including Ruby Pelletier and Betty Wright.  Lue was especially proud of the fact that she played an extra part in the movie Pet Sematary.  She is survived by three children, Lorraine Thibodeau and husband Gerald of Fort Fairfield, Susan Doherty and husband Erwin of Presque Isle, and Albert Hewitt and wife Sherry of Caribou, her grandchildren, Nick, Terri, Rick, Jessica, Shanda, Brittany, and Jason, great-grandchildren, Derek, Drew, Brooke, Alyssa, Mackenzie, Mia, Brianna, Zac, Owen, Ruthie, one great-great-granddaughter, Luella, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hewitt was predeceased by her husband, Jerry S. Hewitt, 3 children, Linda Corbett, Bonnie Hewitt, and Mac Hewitt, and a grandson, Michael Ognen, siblings, Billy, Bobbie, Nathan, Philip, and Marjorie. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou, at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. A special thanks to Dr. Caleb Swanberg for the fine care provided to Luella the past few years.
