Woodland - Nancy Elvira Huston Hersey, 71, passed away peacefully June 6, 2021 at her residence in Woodland in the loving arms of her husband and surrounded by her daughters and sister. She was born March 25, 1950 in Caribou, Maine the eldest of Charles and Lorraine Gagnon Huston. Nancy attended Woodland Consolidated School and Washburn High School, graduating in 1969. In 1987 she returned to NMVTI to obtain her LPN in Nursing. She was employed by Cary Medical Center and later by Visiting Nurses of Aroostook to care for her special needs grandsons. She married the love of her life Robert Hersey on Nov 9, 1968. She then had 3 daughters of which she said being their mother was the best job she ever had. Her faith and love for Christ were strong and she was a devoted member of the Perham Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center where she organized a singing program that was loved by many residents. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She loved spending time at her camp at Cross Lake, her happiest times were cooking breakfast for her family on Sunday mornings, pontoon boat rides, camp fires, making s’mores with the grandchildren, listening to music, and golf cart rides. Family gatherings were always special and her family loved her whoopie pies, potato salad, and her famous meat balls. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bobby) Hersey of 52 years; three daughters Nicole (Albert) Farley, Sherri (Todd) Parker, Lori (Lance) Albair all of Woodland four grandchildren Alexis and Kay-Lee Parker, Ethan and Landan Albair, four siblings Allen (Nena) Huston of Woodland, Thomas (Cindy) Huston of Woodland, Sandi (Chuck) Pickens of Fairfield California, Stanley (Mary) Huston of Caribou, in-laws Mable Wilcox, Russell (Cindy) Wilcox, Juanita (Mike) Cyr, and Susan Osgood. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that she cared deeply about. She was predeceased by her parents, two special grandsons Bobby and Andy Farley, and brother Raymond Huston.
A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held 11:00am Saturday June 12, 2021 at the Perham Baptist Church with Rev. David Goupille, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until time of services. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery, followed by a social luncheon at the Woodland School.
