CARIBOU and SOMERSET, PA - Vernon E. "Bud" Grantham, 77, died September 2, 2021 at In Touch Hospice in Somerset, PA. He was born July 15, 1944 in Caribou, the son of Frederick and Florence (Corriveau) Newbegin. Bud served in the US National Guard, he worked until his retirement as owner of The Airport Market in Caribou, and later as owner of Edge Automotive in Somerset, PA. He served the youth in the Caribou community for many years by coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He also served as Director of Babe Ruth baseball for 3 years in Caribou. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Robert Newbegin. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae (Hartsgrove) Grantham, to whom he was married 54 years; daughter, Pamela Grantham of Lake Alfred, FL; and son, Lon Grantham and wife Rachel of Lake Wylie, SC. Grandchildren: Jason Grantham and wife Laura; Acadia, Camden, and Kaden Grantham; and great-grandchildren; Mason and Liam. Also brothers and sister, Terry Newbegin and wife Diane, Larry Newbegin and wife Patricia, and Gay Fieg. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1pm until time of services which will be held at 2pm with Rev.
