CARIBOU – George E. Theriault, 82, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Caribou following a brief illness. He was born October 19, 1936 in Caribou, the son of the late Ernest and Amelia (Morin) Theriault. He was educated in the Caribou School system and was a graduate of Presque Isle High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Marines. On January 5, 1959 he married Gloria M. Violette, and together they shared 60 years of marriage. George had a great entrepreneurial spirit, and he endeavored to establish several successful business adventures, including Theriault Metal Works Welding and Fabrication and Theriault’s Five Seasons Resort. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and more recently attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving In addition to his wife Gloria, of Caribou, he is survived by four sons, Roddy G. Theriault and spouse Lori, Todd E. Theriault and spouse Mary, all of Caribou, Scott J. Theriault, of Washburn, Gregory J. Theriault and spouse Bonnie, of Caribou, a daughter, Patty E. Corriveau and spouse David, of Caribou, two brothers, Dwane Theriault and spouse Judy, and Maurice Theriault, all of Caribou, sisters, Charlotte Palmer, of Torence, CA, Lee Parent and spouse Sylvio, of Caswell, Carol Roy and spouse Lionel of Caribou, a god-child Kim Martin, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and special family friends, Chloe and Bella Sleeper. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Galen Theriault, and 3 sisters, Marie Nadeau, Irene King, and Linda Nadeau.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am, Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will be in the New Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Following the services, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish center.
