Frazier Howard Tibbs, 96, died July 31, 2024 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Princeton, West Virginia, November 15, 1927 the son of the late William and Louise (Woods) Tibbs. Mr. Tibbs was a graduate of Princeton and attended Wilcox Tech. He served with the United States Army Air Corps, United States Army and the United States Air Force during World War II. He married Donna Belmain on October 26, 1957. He was a member of the Abundant Life Mission, the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW and the Smart-Ricker Post DAV.
He and his wife lived in Middletown, CT for many years, where he was a member of the Royal Rangers, owned and operated Tibbs Cleaning Service, and Tibbs Body and Fender shop. He was also employed as a chemical operator at United Technologies in Connecticut for many years. During this time he was instrumental in implementing several processes that saved Pratt and Whitney a lot of expense and he received several awards from the company. He loved to go to church, where he loved the people and singing his favorite song “Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.”
Surviving in addition to his wife of over 67 years Donna of Caribou, are his son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Sheila (Archer) Tibbs of Caribou, five brothers, one sister, and a beloved granddaughter, Amber Lynn Cannata. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sherry and her husband John Osmun.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 11AM until time of services which will be held at 12 Noon from the chapel of the funeral home with Sister Loretta Doody officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
