Philip L. Foss

PERHAM – Philip L. Foss, 66, passed away February 8, 2021 at Caribou. He was born in Fort Fairfield, December 1, 1954 the son of Robert and Lula (Akerson) Foss. Phil attended Fort Fairfield High School, and following graduation entered the United States Navy. Following his military service he worked for the United States Civil Service, first at Loring Air Force Base and then in Maryland at Fort Detrick until his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Maryland for several years. Phil was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to woodwork. In addition to his mother, Lula Foss of Fort Fairfield, he is survived by his wife, Sheila (Brown) Foss of Perham, two daughters, Barbara Foss Lovely of Easton, and Karen Foss Landry and husband Chad of Needville, TX, brothers, Douglas Foss and wife Betty of Blaine, Robert Foss and significant other, Dana, of Easton, sisters, Maxine Hathaway and husband Roy, Valerie Clark and significant other, Terry Donovan, all of Fort Fairfield, and Lisa Foss of Cottage Grove, MN, grandchildren, Dylan and Casey Lovely, and Major and Madalynn Landry, great-grandchildren, Victor and Kiara Lovely. Friends may visit with the family, Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 6 to 8pm. Please be mindful of others by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering, and be aware that the number of people allowed in the building at one time is limited.
