He was born in Connor, Maine on September 8, 1927, son of John and Emily (Chalout) Beaulieu. Always a hard worker, he grew up working on the family farm in Connor until the age of 15, when he went to work in a mill in Hartford, CT. After a few years he returned to the farm during which time he met Jeanne Cyr of St Leonard, NB. They were married on October 19,1954 . Shortly after they were married he was drafted into the Army and spent 11 months deployed to Asia during the Korean Conflict. He was very proud of his service to his country. After his service he returned to Caribou where he worked on the flight line snowplowing crew at Loring Air Force Base and for several construction companies, most notably Shaw Minko. In 1971 he started his own company EJ Beaulieu Construction. He built several homes in the Caribou area as well as remodeling many of the area's homes. Until his unfortunate fall on January 15th, he enjoyed talking about some of the unique issues on various buildings which he was asked to remedy. He never walked away from a challenge and took great pride in fixing something which was considered unfixable.
He was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings, Sal, Joel, Elrick, Priscilla, Roger, Gloria, and Merilda. On June 2, 2018, after 63 years of marriage he lost his beloved wife Jeanne. His devotion to her over a decade of declining health was inspirational and he devoted himself to her care. After Jeanne's passing he moved to New Hampshire to live in proximity to his three children, he is survived by his son John Beaulieu and wife Celeste of Epping NH, daughter Gale Smith and husband Steven of Loudon NH, and daughter Lisa Wunderlich and husband David of Rochester, NH.
