Eldora C. Corriveau

October 15, 1934 — July 2, 2015

Caribou- Eldora Catherine Corriveau, 80, passed away July 2, 2015, after a long battle with cancer at Caribou. She was born in Washburn October 15, 1934, the daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys (Hathaway) Dow Sr.. She graduated from Hartland Academy in 1953 and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Eldora had many careers other than being a stay at home mother. She was employed by Grants Department Store, Millers Discount, Converse shoe plant and Mecon. Eldora loved taking in stray cats, looking for deals at yard sales, plant flowers in her garden, snipping pieces of plants that caught her interest from wherever they may be to transplant at home and telling stories and jokes. Her most rewarding gift was being a grandmother. Mrs. Corriveau was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Joseph Lindy Corriveau, son Timothy M Corriveau and two brothers, Clarence B. Dow Jr and Ainslie Dow. Eldora is survived her brother Freeman F Dow and his wife Susan of Caribou; her four daughters and three son-in-laws, Bonnie and Galen Sanfacon of Caribou, Cindy and Keith Miller of Newburgh, Ellie and Troy Lagasse of Caribou, and Valarie Corriveau of Barre, VT; one son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Sheri Corriveau of Chelsea . “MeMe” aka “MiMi” will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Christina Corriveau and Grace and Faith Lagasse, Lydia (Sanfacon) Christi . Her three great grandchildren, Emma Christi, Makayla and Ethan Miller. Eldora had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and all could spin a wild tale or two about some of her antics. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Sunday. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday July 6, 2015 from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Corriveau may do so through the American Cancer Foundation.
