Caribou-Doris Martin, 92 entered her fifth day peacefully November 6, 2015 at Caribou. She was born in Guerrette July 22, 1923 the daughter of the late Ligorie and Selma (Rossignol) St. Peter. Mrs. Martin was a longtime, faithful communicant of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Daughters of Isabella Circle #638. She taught FAITH Formation classes at Sacred Heart, was a Eucharistic Minister and also served as the adult advisor for CYO at the time when five of her grandsons where members. She was also a member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Doris loved being with her family and enjoyed cooking for their large family gatherings. She volunteered many thousands of hours at Cary Medical Center, was an avid bingo player and enjoyed having her summer garage sales. She was a lady of strong faith and she touched the hearts and lives of many. Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her husband Raoul Martin in 1982, A daughter Linda Ritter, her sisters; Therese and Marie St. Peter, Priscilla Saucier, Phyllis Graham and Berniece Strid, brothers; Gerald and Clarence St. Peter, two grandsons, Mark LeBlanc and Aaron Martin and four great grandchildren; Cathleen, Niklas and Kristopher Sappier and Kristen Levesque. She is survived by her daughters; Dolores Martin and husband Joseph, Bernadette LeBlanc and husband Robert all of Caribou, Dianna Newbegin and husband Terry of Windermere, Fl., sons; John Martin and wife Ghislaine, Milton Martin and wife Pauline, and Robert Martin and wife Pam all of Caribou, Herman Martin and wife Sharon of Laconia, N.H and Raoul Martin and wife Lyse of St. Francis, N.B. Canada, and Larry Saucier and wife Mona of Pennsylvania, who considered Doris his “second mom”. Sisters, Madeline Guerrette of Caribou, Delores Fahey of Bangor, Grita Carson of Eddington, brothers; Philip St. Peter of Fort Fairfield, Herman St.Pierre and wife Evelyn of Winterhaven, Fl., and Bernard St. Peter of Lewiston. Twenty eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, two foster great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may callat the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8pm Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday November 11, 2015 form the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Mrs. Martin’s grandson, Fr. Kevin Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish hall. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Martin may do so through the Parish of the Precious Blood Memorial Fund.
