Dorian W. Johnson

NEW SWEDEN – Dorian Walter Johnson, 68, died peacefully at home February 5, 2017 after a long illness. He was born June 24, 1948, in Caribou, son of Evelyn (Lewin) and the late Wesley W. Johnson. He was the oldest of three siblings.

Dorian graduated from Caribou High School and enjoyed traveling and working in Alaska and California during his younger years. He resided in New Sweden most of his life, and worked in farming, construction and driving trucks. He was a confirmed member of the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church.

He was predeceased by his father, Wesley W. Johnson, and brother, Dana W. Johnson.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Naegeli of Laguna Woods, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Lynne and Claude Joseph of Lihue, Hawaii; niece and grandniece, Sarah Joseph and Alyssa Silva of Wailua, Hawaii; two special aunts, Marilyn Pearson and Norma Alward of New Sweden, Maine; close friend and caregiver, Wanda Bondeson of Stockholm, Maine: and many first cousins in Maine, North Carolina, West Virginia, Arizona, Nevada and California.

A late spring memorial service is being planned. Arrangements are in care of Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou, Maine. Donations in Dorian’s memory may be made to Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 54, New Sweden, ME 04762.
