Donald O. McGraw, 76, died February 24, 2025 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. He was born in Caribou, November 5, 1948. Don was a graduate of Simsbury High School in Simsbury, CT, and then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service he returned home to Aroostook County where he attended Northern Maine Community College earning his commercial truck driving certification. He was a truck driver and mechanic for many years. Don loved working on cars, going to car shows, and races. He also enjoyed quiet time at the lake, as well as bonfires, and absolutely loved playing poker and cribbage with family. He was ornery and cantankerous, but also loving and kind. Don loved God and his family. One of the last things he said was "Family is everything!" He also loved his country and served it proudly - not willingly - but proudly!
Donald is survived by his wife, Mary (Whiteley) McGraw of Caribou, children, Alfred Bishop of Fallon, Nevada, Matthew Prentice of Moss Point, Mississippi, Donald Bishop and wife Stephanie of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, and Tanya McGraw-Argeros and husband George of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, step-children, John Feckete and wife Tabitha of Easton, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Rogers and husband Peter of Caribou, siblings, Gloria Woolfenden and husband Robert of Annandale, Virginia, Bill Turner and wife Jeannette of St. Petersburg, Florida, Charlie Patten and wife Debbie of Florida, and Mary Spelman and husband Pete of Sangerville, 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held in the spring in the Fairview Cemetery, Perham, at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
