Washburn – Leigh (Arnie) Devoe, 74, died August 4, 2020 in Presque Isle following a long period of declining health. He was born in Caribou April 3, 1946 the son of the late Leo J. and Katherine L. (Williams) Devoe. He was a graduate of Caribou High School and married Brenda Joyce Paradis. Arnie was employed as a bus driver with the Washburn School Department for over 34 years. He served with the US Army National Guard 152nd Field Artillery for over 24 years. Arnie was an active member of the Washburn community, where he was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church and was a firefighter for the Washburn Fire Department for over 33 years, retiring several years ago as Fire Chief. Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 52 years, Brenda of Washburn, are his daughter Leslie Martin and husband Dan of Mapleton, his beloved grandchildren Mallory and Jordyn Martin, a sister-in-law Jackie Devoe of Bangor, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Devoe was predeceased by a sister Linda and brother Edward. Friends may visit at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Monday, August 10, 2020 from 9 a.m. to the time of service which will be held at 11 a.m. at the Northern Mane Veterans Cemetery.
