CARIBOU – Delmer A. Wilcox, 96, passed away June 22, 2016 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Limestone, December 18, 1919 the son of the late George and Mary (Bubar) Wilcox. Mr. Wilcox entered the US Navy on January 4, 1945 and was honorably discharged on February 25, 1946. He received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. He married Shirley Pike on May 28, 1946 and she predeceased him in 2001. Mr. Wilcox was employed as a boiler operator at Loring Air Force Base for 19 years, and he also owned and operated his own business installing and repairing furnaces in Aroostook County for many years. He was a longtime faithful member of the Caribou Assembly of God. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Merritt and Michele Wilcox of Caribou and a daughter, Trinette Wilcox, of Presque Isle, his grandchildren, Jason Wilcox and wife Sabrina, Amanda Worsley and husband Joshua, Joshua Martin and wife Brittany, and Matthew Wilcox, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a special friend Elizabeth Belmain. He was predeceased by a son, Valiant in 1963. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 6 to 8pm, Saturday. Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 from the Caribou Assembly of God with the Rev. Don Owen, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Perham.
