David R. Lusardi

Caribou- David R. Lusardi, (MSGT US Air Force Ret.) 68, died unexpectedly, July 31, 2012 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Greensboro, N.C. August 11, 1943 the son of the late Harold and Ruth (Stencel) Lusardi. He was a graduate of Bay View High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. David also received his Associates Degree in Business from Husson College as well as his bachelor’s degree in Child Behavioral Science from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. In 1961 David enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. His first assignment was to the former Loring Air Force Base, where he met and married his wife Linda Belanger June 1, 1963. David had a long distinguished military career, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1986 after 26 years of service. David also worked at theNCO club at Loring for a number of years and was their Bingo caller. For the past 24 years, David was employed as a caseworker for the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services. He was a member of the Lister Knowlton Post VFW and the Perkins Plourde Post American Legion. Surviving in addition to his wife of Caribou are his sons; Scott Lusardi and his wife Dawn and their children, Lauren and Cameron of South Portland, Todd (Tamara) Lusardi of Gurley Alabama, Mark Lusardi and his wife Barbara and their two children, Laura and Eric of New Richmond, Wisconsin and Brad Lusardi and his wife Lynn and their son Logan of Eddington. One brother Thom Lusardi and his wife Mary Kopecky of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. One sister Fran Knepper and her husband Jerry of Estero, FL. Several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lusardi was predeceased by a sister Donna Zirow. Friends may visit with the family 6-8 pm Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday August 7, 2012 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery Caribou, Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Lusardi may do so through the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery Memorial Fund 37 Lombard Road Caribou 04736.
