CARIBOU – David V. Bell, 82, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 10, 2022 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Painesville, OH, January 19, 1940 the son of Andrew and Margaret (Kujansu) Bell. Following high school graduation, David enlisted in the United States Airforce, serving for 8 years. He served as an Aroostook County Commissioner for a number of years, and retired as Caribou Public Works Director. David also owned and operated “The Corner Store” in Caribou, and was a Notary Public and Justice of the Peace. He married Denise Angers on May 5, 1962 and together they shared 59 years of marriage before her death on February 23, 2021. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion. David loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family camping. He was also a member of the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club. David is survived by his children, Renee Bell and significant other Jerry Kinney of Pensacola, FL, Kathleen Susee and husband Terry, and David Bell and wife Carrie all of Caribou, one brother, Tom Thomas and wife Nancy of Painesville, OH, three sisters, Karen Austen of Tuscon, AZ, Margo Bell of Austinberg, OH, and Bonnie Bell of Painesville, OH, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Mona St. Jean. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Denise, and a brother, Michael. Private family funeral services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Bell may do so through the Veteran’s organization of your choice.
