Caribou – Craig F. Clowes, 72, passed away April 24, 2022 at Bangor following a brief illness. He was born in Caribou, February 7, 1950, the son of the late Earl and Dora (Thomas) Clowes. Craig was a 1968 graduate of Caribou High School and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine in Orono. He served with the US Army during Vietnam. He married Permilla (Pam) Thibodeau, December 9, 1972 and she predeceased him February 28, 2022. Mr. Clowes was an insurance agent and partner, owning and operating Russell/Clowes Insurance Agency in Caribou for many years. He was a member of Caribou Lodge #170 A.F.& A.M. He is survived by his daughter Carrie Foster and husband Michael Kessler of North East, Maryland, 2 brothers, Tom Clowes and wife Jeanne of Stockholm, and Peter Clowes of Gray. A grandson Logan Faulkner, several nieces and nephews. Craig was predeceased by his sister Sue. A visitation for Craig and Pam will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 12 p.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Private interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
