Barbara Conroy

Woodland- Barbara Louise (Caverhill) Conroy entered the gates of Heaven on October 19, 2019 at her home for nearly 60 years surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Caribou, February 8, 1936 to Lloyd and Madeline (Dickinson) Caverhill.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara was a dedicated Christian woman who served in many capacities at her  church, the First Baptist Church of Woodland. She served as a Junior Church teacher, Deaconess, Choir member and social committee member, Sunday School teacher, Ladies Mission Circle and so much more. She often said, ”When the church doors are open, I want to be there.”

Barbara was loving and dedicated to her family who will cherish the many memories and love she gave. She was well known for her cooking skills at church and Woodland Consolidated School where she was the head cook for many years. She will especially be missed for her Saturday night beans and homemade bread.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Wayne, her brother, Wendell, and a grandson, Andrew St Peter.

She is survived by four daughters; Kathy St Peter and husband Alan, Peggy Espling and husband Kim, Lori Thibodeau and husband Jimmie, Jill Plante and husband Tom all of Woodland and one son, Scott and wife Karen of Vermont, a brother Philip Caverhill of Caribou, and sisters, Connie Chapman of Presque Isle and Joyce Landeen of New Sweden. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In her final days she received constant care  from her special nurse/granddaughter, Kristin Damboise.   Friends may visit with the family at The First Baptist Church of Woodland on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 12 noon until time of service which will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. Those who wish to contribute in memory of Barbara, may donate to the First Baptist Church of Woodland.
