April 14, 1964 — February 22, 2025

New Sweden

Cindy K. Therrien, 60, passed February 22, 2025 in Presque Isle following a battle with cancer. Born April 14, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Bobby and Clara Ann (Rains) Stevens. A graduate of McMinnville High School in McMinnville, Tennessee, she later moved to Norfolk, Virginia where she met the love of her life, David Therrien. They married March 19, 1983 and had two beautiful children. Cindy was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for many years. Her and David moved to southern Maine in the fall of 1983 and eventually to Aroostook County where they have resided for 25 years.

Cindy found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as rocking in her recliner with a warm cup of coffee while watching a good television program or tending to her flower garden and trees in the spring. She enjoyed camping by the lake, fishing, and the company of her dogs. She had a fondness for dogwood trees and lilacs. Cindy enjoyed taking her family back to Tennessee to visit relatives and friends including her dear friend, Joyce. Her recent trips to New York City and Puerto Rico brought her great joy and hold special memories for her family. She had a unique way of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, but always in the most innocent and endearing way, leaving those around her smiling and laughing. She was content at home and found fulfillment in being surrounded by those she loved. She looked forward to begin traveling south for the winters and spending time in the summer sun on the back deck. Her family, including her three granddaughters, were her pride and joy.

Cindy eventually returned to work at the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center in 2008 and proudly earned her CNA certification in 2015. Although tough at times, Cindy loved working at the rehab with her co-workers and caring for the patients there. Not only at work, but in every aspect of life, Cindy was known for her hard work and determination, always striving to make things better — whether it was her house, which she kept impeccably clean with fresh paint and prim attention to detail, or her knack for organizing and packing with precision. Her work ethic was instilled in her children, and she was beyond proud of them. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Cindy’s life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, forever and always.

Cindy is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, David A. Therrien of New Sweden, their son, Bradley Therrien and wife, Erica of Woodland, daughter, Cortney Therrien of Caribou, a brother, Jeffrey Stevens and wife, Crystal of McMinnville, TN, three granddaughters, Livianna, Maxynn, and Azaelea Therrien. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter Kreedence Therrien. At Cindy’s request, no services will be held at this time. A special thank you to Cary Medical Center, Jefferson Cary Cancer Center, and Aroostook House of Comfort for your compassionate care.
