Chief gt James Moore Usaf Ret.

Caribou-James R. Moore 78, Ret Chief MSGT USAF, diedunexpectedly February 27, 2014 at his Caribou residence. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana February 14, 1936 the son of the late Alex and Adele (Tolliver) Moore. He graduated high school in New Orleans, received his associates degree from St. Leo College in Florida as well as receiving his BS degree in Sociology from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He married Carole Falardeau May 19, 1962. Following high school James joined the Air Force, retiring in 1985 at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant from the former Loring Air Force Base as an aircraft maintenance manager. Following his retirement, he was employed as an ombudsman with the Long-term Care Ombudsman program in Aroostook County. Mr. Moore was also active in the local community where he was a life member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW, The Henry B Pratt Post 15 American Legion, The Caribou Historical Society, Aroostook County Democratic party and was also a founding member of the Loring Military Heritage Center. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 51 years, Carole of Caribou are his daughter and son in law, Carolyn and Steven Sundell of Newtown, PA., his son and daughter in law, Jacques and Kathy Moore of Manchester. Three grandchildren; Caelin Moore and fiancé Austin Hamann, Sierra Moore and Caroline Sundell. Friends may visit with the family 6-8pm Monday March 3, 2014 at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street, where military honors will be rendered at 8:00 pm.
