Caribou and Howland – Kenneth D. Chaney, 97, died at Howland October 31, 2021. He was born in Caribou, September 7, 1924 the son of the late Frank and Celia (Wright) Chaney. Mr. Chaney attended Caribou schools and served with the US Army during WWII. He married Barbara Watson October 31, 1952 and she predeceased him after nearly 60 years of marriage in 2012. He was a retired railroad engineer with the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for many years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth, and Rev. Michael Hood of New Sweden, 3 grandchildren Carrie Clark and husband James of Columbia, MD, Kristin Town and husband Brett of Anaheim, CA., Caitlin Hood of New Sweden, several great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 10am until time of service which will be 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Chaney may do so through the Whited Bible Camp, P.O. Box 91, Bridgewater, Maine 04735.
