Bryan Soucy

September 17, 1959 — September 2, 2012

Mr. Bryan Joseph Soucy of Blaine, Maine went to see Jesus on September 2, 2012 at 11:11 pm. He was born at Cary Medical Center on September 17, 1959 and he passed away after a five day stay there. Bryan was diagnosed with a cancer that was caused by products he had worked with as a mechanic. He fought a two year battle in Bethesda, Maryland and endured six kinds of chemo. He had given his life to try to find a cure. He signed on to four separate clinical trials. One of his trials discovered a treatment that does work for cancer and Bryan signed off on letting it be used in Chicago. He truly was a hero to the world but to us he was an everyday hero. He worked six days a week to support his church and family. He almost always had four wheelers and snow sleds. Arctic cats were his favorite. He used his spare time to help older or sick folks get their lawns mowed. He worked at Ouellette’s Variety in Caribou, Maurice McCrum’s Saw Shop in Mars Hill and Caron's Equipment and Sales in Presque Isle as well as doing lots of odd jobs with and for friends like tapping syrup with his friend Bud, cutting wood and farming with Gerald Ouellette. Bryan was a Sunday school teacher for years. He was very active in his church that he loved so much. Bryan was a strong and giving man he has many friends and relatives who love him. He is survived by his wife Tammie, his children Sharon, Theresa, Leigh, Danny and Taylor and their respective spouses, as well as, five grandchildren Alyssa, Isabel, Jasmine, Haley and Hunter. Although Bryan is the second to youngest of eight children, they all survive him Roy, Gene, Susan, Donald, Roger, Nancy, and Paula and their respective spouses as well as several nieces and nephews. As time would pass and we would travel from hospital to hospital Bryan would ask me to write down names of people who helped him or comforted him. So I must say thank you from my husband and he loved you. To: Fred for everything you did, for coming to Maryland twice with us for chemo and for forcing him to eat. Sally for always being there! Chuck thank you! Charlene you helped us when no one else would. To our brothers in Christ Gibster, Steffen, Ken and Kevin for visiting Bryan at the hospitals, and at our home, and for always praying and being there. To Tyler for being there and being strong and comforting during his last few days. Sis Kathy for all she has done from brining food for us and the dogs when times got tough. Cracker Levis just because he loved you. Angela, Super Dave, Shawn, and the little outlaw for coming down to move us from Maryland back to Maine, when we had no other way. Brookelynn and Shy for all of your love for “Grampy Bryan” To Tyrell and Taylor for the always being there to help; and for having to experience living with us and him passing so dramatically. Tallialli he loves you! The APC for supporting us and praying for us and for holding us up when we didn’t have the strength to do it ourselves. If you ever meet Bryan you know what a wonderful man he was. If you’re a nurse and your name is Kasey or Lynsley then you’re on Bryan’s list to say God Bless You and thank you! Inkey no one ever sends more cards, prayers or support than you during these experiences than you. Thanks to Chad for keeping the 5 vehicles we ran back and forth to Maryland running. As we grieve for Bryan we can be sure he was a repented, changed, baptized man and a good man, and we must know that now he is walking on streets of gold. He is not in pain and he was for so many years. He has a new body. He was my husband. He was a good provider. He was the love of my life, he was a good father, he was a good neighbor and a great friend, and he was a caring and giving man. Bryan had around 70 visitors in the hospital his last few days of life and he had people and churches praying for him all over the world for the last few years. He was so special and I’m sorry I can’t mention everyone’s name but please know we recognize you all and all you did to help us. Good bye Uncle Bubbles, Good bye My LOVE! I WILL MISS YOU EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE! I LOVE YOU MY DARLING I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! Mrs. Bryan Joseph Soucy. A celebration of Bryan’s life will be Sunday September 30th at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Mars Hill, where he repented, was born again, baptized and married. To get there head toward Fort Fairfield when you reach the town, it’s on the left. We will begin church at 10:00am and continue his service throughout; it will be followed by food and fellowship downstairs. Feel appreciated to bring food, pictures or stories of Bryan to share.
