CARIBOU – Brenda J. Thibodeau, 74, passed through the gates of Heaven after a brief illness on July 8, 2024. Brenda was born on December 29, 1949 in Eagle Lake the daughter of William and Margaret (Connolly) Mullins. Brenda’s early years were spent growing up in the Ashland area, then she moved to the Waterville area for her school years. She attended James H. At the age of 45 she became a Registered Nurse, graduating from Kennebec Valley Technical College in Fairfield. Her wish to live in the County was fulfilled when she moved to Caribou to start her career there. She was employed by Maine Veterans Home, Borderview in Van Buren, Presque Isle Home Care, Caribou Rehabilitation and Nursing, a teaching job at Job Corps, RSU 39 Adult Education, and ended her career at Caribou Tech Center! She taught over 1000 C.N.A. students, many still remember her today. Her love of education led her to a professional State of Maine Teaching Certificate, she was very proud of all of her students and that she had earned that certificate. Brenda is survived by her husband, Galen, her children, Rebecca Withee and husband Steven of Madison, Ronald J. Shedd of Goodspring, TN, and Scott L. Labbe of Madison, her bonus daughters, Fay and husband Ron Cowan of South Berwick, and Denise Fournier and husband Gregg of Carmel, eight grandchildren, Ross and Emma Withee of Madison, Keyra Shedd of Madison, Amanda Labbe of North Anson, Andre Fletcher and Corbin Fournier of Carmel, and Avery Thibodeau of South Berwick. To share her life with so many and always have support from the people that matter most. Brenda was predeceased by her parents, her granddaughter, Hannah Withee, and a brother, Dana Boucher. The family would express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Cary Medical Center’s ER, OR, and ICU. Brenda received the best, most compassionate care during her short time there. Per Brenda’s request there will be no services. Please do a kind deed for someone less fortunate and always smile when you remember her. Private interment will take place at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.
