Caribou-Bernice St. Peter, 88 wife of the late Aurele St. Peter died April 21, 2013 in Caribou. She was born in Caribou May 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Ouellette) Caron. Mrs. St. Peter was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Bernice was a homemaker for many years until the death of her husband Aurele in 1973 where she then sought employment at the Caribou Nursing Home. Bernice was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She loved to crochet afghans for her family and friends. Many will remember her for her fine cooking skills, the many delicious meals she prepared and how much she loved to cook for everyone, whether it was just for a few individuals or for many large family gatherings. She is survived by her children; Norma LaMothe and husband Claude of Caribou, Patrick St. Peter and wife Jean Marie of Limestone, Richard St. Peter and wife Eleanor, Linda Ala and husband John, Judy Gengler and husband Lyle and Lori Theriault and husband Roddy all of Caribou. Twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and recently, her first great great grandson. Bernice also had the love of many brothers and sisters as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am Wednesday April 24, 2013 from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish hall. Interment will be in the spring at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
