CARIBOU – Bernadette Levasseur, 99, went to heaven December 1, 2019 in Caribou. She was born July 6, 1920 in Fort Kent, a daughter of Felix and Albertine (Martin) Dube. She married the love of her life, Gerard J. Levasseur and together they moved to Caribou to start their lives. Bernadette lived a long, happy, life. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard, her brother, Ernest, sisters, Marie-Jeanne, Carmen, Therese and an infant sister. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Dean Levasseur, granddaughter, Karli Adams, and a great-granddaughter, Belle Rose Bourgeois. Bernadette is survived by her sons, John and wife Cindy, Bill and wife Lisa, Dan and wife Julie, and a daughter, Mary McGlinn and husband Craig. Also surviving Bernadette is a sister, Ernestine and husband Leo McVicker of FL, and a brother, Lionel and wife Elena Dube of MA, grandchildren, Arika Galkowski and husband Steve, Sasha Levasseur, Deidra Oliver and husband Nate, David Levasseur, and Zachary Smith, granddaughters to which she was especially close, Rachel Bourgeois and husband Mathieu, Sarah Brown and husband Eric, and a very special grandson, Ben McGlinn, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 9:30am until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will be held at the parish center following the mass. Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery in the spring.
