CARIBOU-Beatrice R. Doody, 84, died November 17, 2011 at Caribou. She was born at Caribou, March 6, 1927, the daughter of Tom and Rose (Plourde) Gahagan. Beatrice was a housekeeper in the Caribou area for several families for many years. She was a member of the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Lister-Knowlton Post #9389 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and toll painting. Beatrice was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She married Philip Doody on July 20, 1949. Surviving in addition to her husband of over 62 years, Philip of Caribou are one son Galen Doody of Worcester, MA; two daughters Laura Lee Doody of Worcester, MA and Donna Fields and her husband Brian of Caribou; one brother Lawrence Gahagan and his wife Mavis of Caribou; one sister Marie Cullins and her husband Art of Caribou; one half brother Irvin Gahagan of Missouri; one half sister Shirley Tracy and her husband Phil of NH; 3 grandchildren Chris Otis, Ben Fields and Leslie Otto; 4 great grandchildren Georgiana and Caitlin Fields and Angelina and Logan Otis; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a half brother Tom Gahagan and two half sisters Verna Perreault and Sylvia Ouellette. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir St. Caribou, 6-8pm Sunday. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00am, Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends who wish to contribute in memory of Beatrice may do so to the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church Memorial Fund or to the American Heart Association. Envelopes may be obtained through the funeral home.
