Caribou-Barry J. Dombroski, 54, surrounded by his family, died peacefully April 26, 2017 in a Boston Hospital. A longtime Caribou resident, he proudly served his community as a police officer for 24 years and also participated in many civic and charitable events. The absolute highlights of his life were the births of his daughter, Katelyn Mamie and his son Tyler Joseph, both of whom he loved very deeply. Surviving in addition to his mother, Peg Winston and husband Don of Caribou are his father, Richard Dombroski and wife Florine of Florida, siblings; Scott Dombroski of CT., Jim Dombroski of NH., Kristi Ryan of CT., Jason Dombroski of FL., Step siblings, Renee Boucher of Me, Don Winston of VA., and Dan Winston of Maine and stepson Matthew Enman of ME., His Aunt, Sherrie Davidson of Caribou and Uncle Bruce Patton of IL. A very special uncle, Steve Patton of Caribou gave Barry and his brothers many memorable adventures in the North woods, exposing them to the beauty of nature, teaching them how to hunt, fish and tell stories. Today, Barry’s children and their cousins continue that legacy. Barry had the coveted roll of the “funny uncle” to his young nieces and nephews, who will never forget the time he pretended to be a bear outside the tent during their first camping trip. Barry will surely be remembered for the love he had for many family and friends, especially Stuart Sutherland, his longtime best friend, who was the anchor in his life. Barry will be fondly remembered by many as a caring policeman, and a man with a great sense of humor. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Saturday May 13, 2017 from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Parish hall. Arrangements by the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou.
