Barbara E. Chaney, 81, died May 21, 2012 at Caribou. She was born at Caribou, March 20, 1931, the daughter of Raymond and Delina (Bossie) Watson. She was a graduate of the Caribou High School and was employed at Public Finance and the Aroostook Trust Company for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Christian Life Assembly Church in Presque Isle. Barb was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She married Kenneth Chaney on October 31, 1952. Surviving in addition to her husband Ken of New Sweden are her daughter Ruth Hood and her husband Michael of Lincoln, Nebraska and their children Carrie and Caitlin Hood both of Columbia, Maryland and Kristin Hood of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; ten brothers Charlie Watson and George Watson both of Palmyra; Terry Watson of Pensacola, FL; Herman Watson of Corinna; Raymond Watson Jr. and Frank Watson both of Pittsfield; Dale Watson of Carmel Murray Watson of St. Albans; John Watson of Napa, CA and Tom Watson of Belle View, FL; six sisters Lydia LaBree of Palmyra; Betsy Warner of Plymouth; Harriett Chalbeck of Candia, NH; Patricia West of State College, PA and Louise Savage of Stetson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers James, George and William Watson and by a sister Lillian Watson. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou 6-8pm, Thursday. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday May 25, 2012 from the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
