CASWELL – Betty Ann Osgood, 78, passed away April 2, 2022 at the Aroostook House of Comfort. She was born in Caribou, April 28, 1943 the daughter of the late Carl and Lillian (Gagnon) Durost. Betty graduated from high school, and then went on to receive her LPN training, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She continued her education to received a nursing degree from Northern Maine Community College. Betty was a social counselor at Aroostook Mental Health Center and was also employed as a registered nurse at Cary Medical Center, and at The Aroostook Medical Center. She then worked for the State of Maine as a case worker for child protective services and as a public health nurse. She is survived by her children, Kevin Caverhill and wife Wendy of Caribou, and Tammy Cyr and husband Everett of Bucksport, her siblings, Janet Collins of Ormand Beach, FL, and Pat McDaniel of Woodland, her grandchildren, Shauna, Christopher, Nicole, Brandon, and Chad, her great-grandchildren, Madeline, Noah, Collin, Luci, Willa, Kyren, Quintyn, and Cylvie, and also many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by two infants, Wendy and Joseph, sisters, Carol Clayton, and Janice Doyon, and two former husbands, Wendell Caverhill, and Fred Osgood. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Betty are asked to do so to The Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. Private family services will be held at a later date.
