Audrey L. Silsbee

January 2, 1944 — June 21, 2020

CARIBOU - Audrey Lorraine Silsbee, 76, passed away peacefully June 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at The Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. Audrey was born in Portland, on January 2, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Rita (Guerrette) Nadeau.  She was raised in Caribou, and attended Caribou Schools.  She worked at Cary Medical Center for more than 20 years. She loved her peers and coworkers so much at Cary Medical Center that after retirement she volunteered a few days a week at Cary Medical Center.  Everyone knew her because of her legendary smile and her warm welcoming and greeting of all visitors and patients at Cary. On November 18, 1995 she married Gary Silsbee, and together they shared 25 years of marriage. Audrey loved spending time with her children and having visits with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working on her word puzzles, watching her stories and scrolling through Facebook to see pictures of her family and friends.  She was the biggest fan of Elvis Presley! Audrey was predeceased by her parents Rita and Fred Nadeau, her brother Ernest Nadeau, her sister, Stella Madore and her beloved daughter, Tina Saunders Cousins, and her grandchildren, Cortina and Cody Cousins. Audrey is survived by her loving husband, Gary Silsbee, of Caribou. Audrey will be lovingly remembered by her children, Todd Saunders and wife Susan of Woodbine, GA, Tony Saunders and his wife Trina of Caribou, Tammy Saunders Lothrop of Madawaska, Terry Saunders of Caribou,  step-sons Christopher Silsbee and wife Amber of Freeport, Michael Silsbee, of Caribou,  several grandchildren; Ashlee Peters, Kylee and Emilee Lothrop, Kyle Maier, Amber Saunders, Jonathan Doughtery, Victoria(Tori) Saunders, Lauren and Lindsay Philips, Evan Silsbee; Great-Grandchildren, Camden, Aiden, Chevelle, Everlee, Deegan, Quinn, Emma, Olivia, Grayson, Jackson, Libby and Kash, her sister, Linda Ouellette of Caribou, and several nieces and nephews.  Those who wish to contribute in memory of Audrey may do so through the Jefferson Cary Foundation, P.O. Box 89 Caribou, Maine 04736. Private family services and interment in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery will be held.
