Arthur L. Devoe, 88, died June 25, 2013 at home on the family farm after a long illness. He was born November 12, 1924 in Fort Fairfield the son of the late Hughie and Augusta (Harris) Devoe. Mr. Devoe was a self-employed farmer and potato grower in Limestone for more than 60 years and an active member of the Limestone community. He served on the Limestone Board of Appeals, the Helen P. Knight School Board, was a lifetime member of the Limestone-Caswell Historical Society and was also a lifetime member of the Future Farmers of America. Arthur loved to fish, hunt and enjoy the outdoors. He was a member of the Sportsman club, Gun club, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was a registered Maine Guide. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Willey) Devoe of Limestone and 3 sons and daughters in law; Lewis and Debbie Devoe of Vassalboro, Thomas and Kristi Devoe of Limestone and Wallace and Brenda Devoe of Gray. His grandchildren; Brad Devoe, Ryan Devoe and wife Christina, Mark Devoe, Kelly Page and husband Scott, Tadd Devoe and wife Melissa, Jamie Devoe-Pratt, Corey Devoe, Heidi Dorr and husband Jeff, Greg Merrithew and wife Heather. Great grandchildren; Austin and Wyatt Devoe, Maegan Page, Taylor and Thomas Arthur Devoe, Caleb Young, Jack and Onagh Merrithew. He was predeceased by a son, Hughie, a brother, Wallace Devoe, and a sister, Glenna Devoe Saylors. Private family services will be held at a later date.
