Caribou-Anne Newell, 96 died October 30, 2012 at Presque Isle. She was born in North Barre Vermont May 21, 1916 the daughter of the late John and Eliza MacAuley. Mrs. Newell was a longtime member of the Caribou Unitarian Universalist Church and was a nurse at the former Loring Air Force Base for a number of years. She is survived by her children Judith Solman and her husband Bob of North Yarmouth, Larry Newell and his wife Lena and Elizabeth Maifield all of Caribou. Her grandchildren; Scott Solman and his wife Kristi, Jeff Solman, Doug Solman, Chris Maifield, Jason Maifield and Brian Newell. Five great grandchildren, Nikki, Katie, Eliza, Ashley and Jordan Solman. A celebration of Mrs. Newell’s life will be held Saturday November 24, 2012 from the Caribou Unitarian Universalist Church with Rev. Maury Landry officiating. The time of the service will be announced in a future edition of the Bangor Daily News by the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Newell may do so through the Unitarian Universalist Church Memorial Fund.
