PERHAM-Ann Marie King RN 50, passed away peacefully August 20, 2015 at Caribou with her loving family by her side and with the thoughts and prayers of many others. She was born at Bunker Hill AFB Indiana, September 3, 1964 the daughter of Robert and June (Bergreron) Haney. Ann attended schools around the country as her father was stationed at various Air Force Bases during his career. She received her nursing degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Northern Maine Community College. She married Douglas King August 18, 1984 and was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. Ann was a dedicated registered nurse at Cary Medical Center for more than 20 years, where she also served as the hospitals infection control coordinator. In 2014, Ann was nominated as Maine Hospital Association Caregiver of the Year. She was also a CCEMPT (flight Nurse) and was one of the leaders and founding members of Caribou Fire and Ambulance/Cary Medical Center Air Ambulance Service. She worked tirelessly for the flight service making sure everyone and everything were always ready for emergency flights. For nearly 20 years, she served as the New England Organ Bank Liaison for Northern Maine and started and ran the popular Cary Donor Dash road race to benefit NEOB. She was an honorary member of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department and served as the department’s infection control and health officer for a number of years. Ann was very active in her health care community and in her training, and it was always with the care, comfort and safety of her patients in mind. She is survived by her husband, Doug of Perham, two daughters; Kelsey Nadeau and her husband Josh of Connor, Alison King and her fiancé Chris Raven of Presque Isle, her father and step mother Robert and Iris Haney of Connecticut. A brother Bobby Haney and his wife Katie, a sister Donna Haney all of Connecticut , many nieces as well as her extended family at Cary Medical Center and Caribou Fire “who have been so good to me”. Mrs. King was predeceased by her mother June. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 1-3 and 6-8 pm Sunday. Funeral services will be held 6:00pm Monday August 24, 2015 at the Caribou Wellness Center Bennett Drive Caribou with Rev. David Goupille, officiating. Following the service all are invited to remain at the Wellness Center for a time of continued reminiscing and refreshments.
