WOODLAND – Alan “Bob” Haines, 77, passed away September 5, 2015 at his Woodland residence with his family by his side. He was born in Presque Isle, February 27, 1938 the son of the late Albert and Elvin (Ward) Haines. He was a graduate of Presque Isle High School and served with the US Navy. He married Sandra Pelkey on December 12, 1959. Mr. Haines was employed as an equipment operator for several area construction companies. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family camping. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 55 years, Sandra, of Woodland are two sons, Alan and Kate of Fort Fairfield, Arthur and Annette of Hollis, one daughter, Rhonda and Frank Sennett of Westbrook, a special niece Gail Cova of Presque Isle, three brothers, Albert and Van of Presque Isle and Ronald of NC, One sister, Brenda Torrey of Winter Harbor, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held 1pm Friday, September11, 2015 from the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery with Rev. George McGlaughlin, officiating.
