Ronald C. McAtee Sr.
WOODLAND - Ronald Charles McAtee Sr., 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 10, 2022 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a brief illness. He was born in Caribou, September 10, 1949, the youngest of 11 children born to Charles and Emily (Michaud) McAtee. Ronald was a 1968 graduate of Caribou High School, and worked as a meat cutter for many area grocers for over 40 years. He resided in Woodland for 48 years. In 1969, he married his high school sweetheart Janice (McGlinn) McAtee. Ron’s favorite past times were playing cards, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s events. He enjoyed watching westerns, playing cribbage, hosting annual family picnics, and spending time with family and friends. Ron was a strong and supporting husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. We know he’ll always be watching over us. He is survived by his wife, Janice McAtee of Woodland, their daughter, Sue McAtee Acosta of South China, and her significant other Doug Dubord, his son Ronald C. McAtee Jr. of Presque Isle and his wife Shelley, his grandchildren, Josh and significant other Marlene of Fort Fairfield, Skyler and significant other Jayson of Presque Isle, Xavier and significant other Taylor; great-grandchildren, Brick, Catherine, Caroline, Nevaeh, and Asa, two surviving sisters, Alice and Rita, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great nieces. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, and 8 siblings. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 1PM until 3PM. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Anah Shrine Klowns, P.O. Box 1601, Presque Isle, Maine, 04769, a cause that was near to Ronald’s heart.

Please know that the fond memories are a great comfort in the days ahead, however it never replaces the actual physical presence of someone you shared all these years with the person you have loved.
