CARIBOU – Alexina Fortin, 91, wife of the late Claude Fortin, passed away April 17, 2019 at Caribou. She was born in St. Anne de Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada, March 15, 1928 the daughter of the late Maxim and Helen (Clavette) Devost. Mrs. Fortin worked at Cyr Brothers for many years, and was a cook at Levesque Logging Camps in Ashland. Alexina loved crocheting, knitting, puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude and her sons, Roland and Ronald Fortin. Alexina is survived by a son, Robert Fortin and wife Darlene “Ann” of East Hartford, CT, a daughter, Linda Fortin of Caribou, a granddaughter, Sandra Bittle of Caribou, grandsons, Wayne Fortin and wife Sandy of St. Anne de Madawaska, NB, Joe Sears, and Scott Tracy and wife Kristy all of Caribou, great-granddaughters, Erika Bittle of Caribou, Chantal Bittle of New Sweden, and Ashley Fortin of St. Anne de Madawaska, NB, great-grandsons, Corey Fortin, of St. Anne de Madawaska, NB, Chandler, Landon and Kody Tracy all of Caribou, a great-great-granddaughter, Kaydence Harrison, of Caribou, sisters, Melvina Godin and husband Armand of Caribou, Jane and Regina Godin both of St. Anne de Madawaska, NB, Lillian Bellefleur and Azilda Petit both of Grand Falls, NB, a brother, Reno Devost of Presque Isle, a daughter-in-law, Velva Fortin of Dade City, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family, Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 10 am until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12pm noon at the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 34 Vaughn Street, Caribou. Spring interment will be held in the New Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Caribou.
