New Sweden and Chapman - Jasmine Miller 69, died at Mars Hill following a long illness. She was born in Caribou, April 10 1951, the daughter of the late Oscar and Virginia (Rasmussen) Erickson. Jasmine was a 1969 graduate of Caribou High School, attended the University of Maine at Orono and was a 1974 graduate of the University of Maine Portland Gorham, with a bachelor's degree in education. Following graduation, she taught school in Scarborough for 4 years, and then was an elementary school teacher for MSAD 1 for over 22 years. She was a member of the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church in New Sweden. Jasmine was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and teacher who put everyone first. She could make anyone smile, and did so often. She loved teaching kids so much, known for her rainforest lessons and frog eggs in her class every spring. She enjoyed road trips with friends and family, working in her flower beds and cooking, her shredded wheat bread and chocolate cake will never be duplicated. Mom, we all love you, there's no words to explain how much we miss you. She is survived by two sons, Andrew Miller, Jonathan Miller and wife Darcey, all of Chapman, four sisters, Valerie Peterson and husband Glenn of Woodland, Kristi Erickson and husband Steve Cyr of Bangor, Tania Erickson and husband Tom Thibodeau of Bangor, Vanessa Erickson and husband Greg Corrow of Lisbon Falls. Her two beloved grandchildren, Denver and Aubrey Miller, nieces and nephews, Jason Peterson, Lucas Peterson and wife Kate Stevens, Alexis Quintilliani, Aliza Thibodeau and husband Kit Soden, their son, great nephew Theo, and Deanna Corrow. Memorial services will be held at a later date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral home, Caribou. Those who wish to contribute in memory of Jasmine may do so by donating books/school supplies to a local school or teacher.
