Caribou – Louise (Gagnon) Cyr, 96, died March 31, 2021 at Van Buren following a long illness. She was born in Caribou, April 13, 1924 daughter of the late John and Selina (Cyr) Gagnon. Mrs. Cyr was a graduate of Caribou High School and married Alban Cyr Sr. on April 13, 1945 and he predeceased her 1998. She was a lifelong member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and over the years was involved in a variety of church groups and activities as well as various community organizations. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Judy Stetson and husband Dean of Lethbridge, AB, Canada, Bill Cyr of Boise, Id, and Mike Cyr and wife Pauline of Washburn, a daughter-in-law Sally Ann Cyr of Caribou, 1 sister, Marilyn Nichols of California, her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Stetson, Andrea Stetson Lampi, Courtney Cyr-Boma, Adam Cyr, Kylie Cyr-Peters and Andy Cyr. 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, Annette Smith, and Louise Cyr, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cyr was predeceased by her husband Alban Cyr Sr., 2 sons, Alban Cyr Jr. and Daniel Cyr, as well as several siblings and in-laws. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Borderview in Van Buren for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Louise during her time there. Graveside services will be held at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou, at a later date to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
