CONNOR TWP - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hector R. Gagnon, 94 on February 24, 2021 in Caribou. He was born May 1, 1926 the son of Louis and Lumina (Raymond) Gagnon. Hector was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany just after the end of World War II. He worked for more than 40 years at the Birds Eye plant, later American Kitchen, in Caribou. He was lifelong devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in North Caribou. He loved taking care of his home and tending the family’s enormous vegetable garden. He loved music and dancing, and in his mid-80’s, he moonlighted as a stripper at his daughter-in-law’s birthday party!
Hector will be lovingly remembered by his wife Theresa of 66 years of Connor Township; 5 of his children, Patricia Asselin and her husband, Raymond, of Sabattus, Diane Landeen and her husband, Michael, of New Sweden, Michael Gagnon and his wife, Holly, Gary Gagnon and his wife Ann, and Lynn Cross, all of Caribou; his son-in-law, Steven Ouellette of North Carolina; his sister, Rita Martin and her husband, Lester, of Caribou; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his many brothers and sisters, and his daughter, Karen Ouellette.

Private family services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, North Caribou. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
