Mr. Michaud was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart and Holy Rosary Catholic Churches, where he served as an alter server for Masses and funerals. He was a fourth degree member of the Fred V. Brescia Council 1870 Knights of Columbus. Doug passion for country music and playing guitar led him to become a member of the Good Ole Boys group who played at many gatherings. He also became a member of the Charlene and Friends Band, and they played at many nursing homes in the area, which he truly enjoyed. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elaine (St. Pierre) Michaud of Caribou, his children of which he was very proud, a daughter, Hope Skidgel and husband Don, and their children Taylor Thibodeau, Chrissy and Taylor Skidgel all of Caribou, two sons, Kirk Michaud, and his daughter, Katelyn, both of Caribou, Jason Michaud and his wife Myranda, and their son Bailey all of Lewiston, six sisters, Emily Johnston and husband Dave, and Mary Albert all of Caribou, Nina Smith and husband Norman of Biddeford, Jeanne Downend and husband Mike of Woodland, Earleen York of VA, Christine Pelkey and husband Don of Fort Fairfield, two brothers, Paul Michaud and wife Nancy, and James Michaud and wife Rina all of Caribou, a sister-in-law, Edwina Michaud of Fort Fairfield. Mr. Michaud was predeceased by his mother in 1968, his father in 1979, two brothers, Vinal in 1968 and Hubert in 2000, two infant sisters, Beverly and Beatrice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Saturday, June 10, 2017, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the V. Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Today we lost a friend. We lost an advocate for military, a friend to the elderly, a man with a love of music, a man with heart and soul. Doug was never angry, or sad. He was a voice of region at meetings and I am grateful to have known him. Doug and his friend had a dream and I am grateful to have been asked to be part of it by Doug and his friend. Doug you made your mark on the world. I wish there were more gentleman like you. You had the best belly laugh I knew. I'll miss you so much. Thanks for all you did for the community and the organizations you were part of. Fly with the Angels Doug! Smile upon us and know how much you were lived. God Bless always.

I'm so sorry for your loss, there will be a big empty hole here on earth now.
We so loved Doug very much and after he got sick and couldn't call bingo anymore,
we were saddened.
There will be a lot of people missing at the funeral, because of out VFW State Convention. This week end in Bangor, but if possible we will be at the burial.
Again we sorry for your loss.
RIP Doug.

We would like to pass on our sympathy to Elaine and the entire family.
Doug will be missed. We remember his infectious laugh. It could be heard above everyone else in the room.
When your heard it, you just stopped what you were doing and listened and laughed along with him.
God Bless.
RIP Doug.
